Responsibilities
- Develop and implement art lesson plans that align with curriculum standards
- Instruct students on various art techniques and mediums (both traditional and digital)
- Foster a creative and inclusive learning environment
- Provide constructive feedback to students on their artwork
- Organize and oversee art projects and exhibitions (including online galleries)
- Develop and implement customized art education programs for students with autism
- Teach the use of digital art tools and software
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate art into interdisciplinary lessons
- Guide and advise students in preparing art portfolios for college applications
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Art Education (Master's preferred)
- Teaching certification for elementary, middle, and high school art
- Minimum of 3 years of art teaching experience
- Proficiency in various traditional art media (drawing, painting, sculpture, etc.)
- Proficiency in digital art software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Procreate)
- Basic knowledge of 3D modeling and animation
- Experience with digital art hardware (graphic tablets, styluses, etc.)
- Experience in guiding students with portfolio preparation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop creative and innovative teaching methods
- Deep understanding of art history and contemporary art trends
- Knowledge of child development and behavior management techniques
- Familiarity with early childhood and adult education principles
- Experience in art education for students with autism or relevant training
- Willingness to continuously learn about the latest digital art trends and technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of special education practices
- First aid certification
Portfolio Guidance Skills
- Support students in developing their personal artistic style
- Knowledge of portfolio requirements for various art colleges
- Ability to effectively select and organize students' work
- Skill in guiding the creation of portfolios integrating both digital and traditional art
- Guide students in writing artist statements
