Position Summary

The purpose of the Billing Representative is to provide exceptional customer service by interacting with patients, worker’s compensation representatives, insurance companies, and other medical offices in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent or higher education.
- Previous billing experience of 2 years or more.
- Previous healthcare/insurance experience of 2 years or more.
- Computer proficiency with Windows and Outlook experience.
- Good decision-making, communication, and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to multi-task and be flexible to accommodate the needs of the department due to the ever-changing healthcare field.
- Understands the importance of maintaining confidentiality per HIPPA guidelines.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Promptly answering billing phone line as well as checking voicemail lines and returning calls in a timely manner.
- Answering general billing questions from staff and patients in a welcoming and professional manner.
- Collecting payments on patient accounts (including pre-pays for procedures as well as collection accounts).
- Working with insurance to overturn denied claims.
- Maintaining patient billing records.
- Maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Reporting Relationship
The Billing Specialist reports to the Revenue Cycle Manager
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
