Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Addiction Counselor or Candidate to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide evidence-based addiction counseling and mental health support to individuals struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Duties
- Conduct thorough client assessments utilizing DSM-5 criteria and ICD coding standards to determine diagnosis and treatment needs.
- Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery, mental health stabilization, trauma processing (including PTSD), and crisis intervention.
- Facilitate intake evaluations, case management activities, and ongoing client progress monitoring while maintaining accurate medical documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems compliant with HIPAA regulations.
- Implement crisis management protocols to address urgent mental health or behavioral issues effectively while ensuring client safety and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with medical professionals, social workers, and community resources to coordinate comprehensive care plans tailored to clients’ cultural backgrounds and diverse needs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical documentation standards, and behavioral health regulations to ensure compliance across all patient records.
Experience
- Proven experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions in clinical or community settings.
- Strong background in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, and group therapy facilitation.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, mental health diagnostic evaluation tools (DSM-5), ICD coding systems, and electronic health record (EHR) management.
- Experience working with diverse populations from various cultural backgrounds while maintaining sensitivity and professionalism.
- Knowledge of addiction medicine principles, behavioral health practices, patient assessment techniques, and case management strategies.
- Ability to handle crisis situations effectively through crisis management skills while adhering to clinical documentation standards.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient care excellence by ensuring confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines and maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Willing to train as needed.
- Must be eligible for LAC Candidate or already be an LAC.
- Must be willing to obtain licensure if not already licensed.
- Must build and maintain a full case load.

Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
