Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide patient observation and monitor health status, vital signs, and overall well-being
- Support medication administration and help maintain accurate care plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals, assist with cooking, and ensure proper hygiene and cleanliness in living spaces
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and perform heavy lifting safely when necessary
- Engage individuals in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and independence
- Document care activities thoroughly, including patient monitoring, behavioral observations, and incident reports
Skills
- Proven experience in group home settings or assisted living environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, autism support, and hospice care best practices
- Certifications in CPR and First Aid to ensure safety during emergencies
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized support
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining patience and compassion
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Physical stamina for activities such as heavy lifting, patient transfers using Hoyer lifts, and long shifts on your feet
