- JOB DESCRIPTION
- Assist in all aspects of providing and maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and responsive child care environment.
- Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social development.
- Help with the preparation, organization, and maintenance of classroom materials and equipment.
- Ensure classroom cleanliness and safety by following daily cleaning and sanitization protocols.
- Maintain required adult-to-child ratios at all times.
- Cultivate effective, positive communication and relationships with children, families, and team members.
- Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating patience, empathy, and professionalism.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and Nanny’s Nook, Inc.
- Assist with meal and snack preparation, and support children with feeding as needed.
- Observe and report any concerns regarding children’s health, behavior, or development to the lead teacher or director.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working with children in a child care, preschool, or related setting preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and engage in active play with children.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and child welfare.
- Coursework or training in early childhood education is a plus.
- Experience with special needs, infant care, or large groups of children is a bonus.
