Top Bun Transport is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to lead our transportation and distribution operation.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands that transportation doesn't always happen according to plan. You'll oversee drivers, fleet operations, scheduling, DOT compliance, and daily delivery execution while responding quickly when routes, equipment, staffing, or customer needs change.

What You'll Do
- Lead and support drivers and transportation personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time deliveries
- Manage daily transportation schedules, routes, staffing, and equipment needs
- Monitor driver attendance, availability, hours of service, and route coverage
- Respond to call-offs, equipment issues, route delays, and other operational challenges
- Ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA requirements and company transportation policies
- Support driver qualification, licensing, medical certification, drug and alcohol testing, and required transportation records
- Manage vehicle registrations, renewals, license plates, permits, and related fleet documentation to ensure all company vehicles remain current and compliant
- Monitor fleet safety, driver performance, vehicle inspections, and regulatory compliance
- Partner with Shipping, Sales, Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and Human Resources to resolve transportation issues
- Manage and develop drivers through coaching, training, performance feedback, and accountability
- Review transportation performance and identify opportunities to improve service, efficiency, utilization, and cost
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime
- Assist with accident investigations, safety concerns, and corrective actions
- Maintain accurate transportation records and documentation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the transportation operation
What We're Looking For
- Previous transportation, distribution, fleet, or logistics management experience required
- Experience managing commercial drivers and daily delivery operations strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong understanding of driver safety, Hours of Service, vehicle inspections, and transportation documentation
- Experience managing fleet maintenance and vehicle availability
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and hold employees accountable
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced operation where priorities can change quickly
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across departments
- Computer proficiency and experience with transportation, routing, fleet, or logistics systems preferred
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record required
- CDL experience or knowledge is a plus
Schedule & Work Environment
This is an onsite, hands-on transportation leadership position supporting a fast-paced commercial bakery distribution operation.
Our customers depend on daily deliveries, so flexibility is important. The Transport Manager must be available to respond to operational needs that may occur outside of traditional business hours, including early mornings, weekends, holidays, and emergencies as needed.
