Key responsibilities include:
- Review import documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, arrival notices, and other supporting documents.
- Prepare and process customs entries in coordination with licensed customs brokers.
- Assist with HTS classification, duty review, PGA requirements, and compliance-related documentation.
- Communicate with customers, overseas agents, carriers, warehouses, truckers, and internal teams to ensure smooth shipment flow.
- Track shipment status and provide timely updates to customers.
- Coordinate customs release, exam status, delivery arrangements, and post-entry follow-up.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all documents are properly filed.
- Identify missing or inconsistent information and follow up with customers or agents.
- Support FDA, USDA, FCC, EPA, Section 301, AD/CVD, and other government agency-related clearance matters when applicable.
- Assist with billing review, cost verification, and operational reporting.
- Follow company SOPs and help improve operational efficiency.
- Prepare customer invoices, review billing details, verify charges and costs, and ensure timely and accurate billing for completed shipments.
Qualifications
- Experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, import operations, or logistics is preferred.
- Familiarity with customs entry processing, HTS codes, duties, and import documentation is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle time-sensitive shipments.
- Good communication and follow-up skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, email communication, and logistics systems.
- Bilingual English/Mandarin.
- Licensed Customs Broker is a plus but not required.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is organized, responsible, and detail-oriented. This person should be comfortable working with documents, following up with different parties, and solving operational issues under deadlines. Prior customs brokerage or import logistics experience is highly preferred.
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
