Job Overview
As a Commercial Glazier, you will install, repair, and replace commercial glass and aluminum systems on a variety of construction projects. This includes aluminum storefronts, entrances, curtainwall systems, and interior heavy glass installations. You will work independently and alongside project teams to ensure installations are completed safely, accurately, and according to project specifications.
Dependability, accountability, and consistent quality workmanship are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Install aluminum storefront systems, entrances, curtainwall, and interior heavy glass systems.
- Install and replace commercial glass in windows, doors, and other building systems.
- Measure, fabricate, and fit glass according to project specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and installation details.
- Assemble frames and install storefront doors, hardware, and related components.
- Apply caulking, sealants, and weatherproofing materials to ensure watertight and airtight installations.
- Work closely with project managers, carpenters, and other trades on construction sites.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets company quality standards and customer expectations.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area.
- Follow all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures.
Experience
- Experience installing commercial glazing systems required.
- Experience with:
- Aluminum storefront windows and entrances
- Curtainwall systems
- Interior heavy glass systems
- Ability to accurately read blueprints and shop drawings.
- Skilled in the use of glazing hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of commercial door hardware and storefront door installation.
- Strong caulking and sealing skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work safely at heights when required.
