We are looking for Commercial and Residential Audio/ Video Installers.
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE APPLYING!!!
First and foremost id like to say that our trade is a merger of Technology and Construction. So, if you have experience in either field your Skill set could apply here. Also if you have NO experience in either but are willing to learn we have a very strong training program. Secondly, this is a labor intensive career and is hard work but very rewarding and fun. Third, some travel is required. Most of our Projects are in Indiana but some are in other states. We do go out of town to complete said projects and all expenses are paid by the company. If travel is not wanted we understand but it is a requirement for this position and you need not apply to you have an issue with travel. Our out of town times range from 1 day to several but we are never out of town for more than 2 weeks straight. Most projects require a few days out of town. In conclusion this career requires people that like to work, like to learn, like being in a field that is growing and on the cutting edge of Technology.
We have 6 Tiers of Installers/Technicians and we are looking for anyone whom qualifies in any category listed below.
-Trainee: No knowledge but willing to learn while getting paid to do so.
-Tier 1 Entry Level:
-Tier 2 Intermediate:
-Tier 3 Assistant Lead
-Tier 4 Lead Installer
-Tier 5 Master Installer
Here are the basic skills needed for each Tier.
Tier 1 Entry level Installer qualifications
1. Paperwork comprehension
2. 100 10’ Cat Cables made on their own time.
3. Basic prewiring comprehension
4. Basic TV Install
5. Basic Speaker Install
6. Basic Power and Hand tool usage abilities
Tier 2 Installer qualifications
1. Rack wiring and construction comprehension
2. Intermediate Audio Installation/Wiring: Amp, Preamp and Speakers.
3. Intermediate TV/Video Distro Install/Wiring. Including TV mounting structure.
4. Basic Network config/wiring. Understanding basic network protocols. Example setting up routers correctly and basic network systems.
5. Intermediate Power and hand tool usage abilities
6. Basic programming of entry level hardware.
Tier 3 Tech/Installer qualifications
1. Advanced understanding and ability of everything listed above. May Have strengths in some areas and weaknesses in others but have a overall integration understanding of entire systems.
2. Entry level project management. Being able to help get projects ready, knowing what’s needed to do so, being able to do small projects and service visits on your own. Being able to run said project and people to get project done correctly.
3. Taking service calls after hours and doing remote repairs.
4. You are able to train someone.
Tier 4 Technician qualifications (Lead Installer)
1. Complete understanding of systems integration
2. Able to run medium to large project on your own and manage people on said project to get project done correctly.
3. Extremely good communication with customers and Avdi personnel to create great continuity between internal and external relationships.
4. Complete understanding of all hardware programming and configuration. Not necessarily including true Crestron coding. Open architecture DSP’s, HDMI Distro config, Complete networking config etc…
5. Able to customize mounting for large TV configurations. Example Video walls, DLED walls, score board etc…
6. You are able to fully train someone.
Tier 5 Technician qualifications (Master Installer)
1. You will always know what to do in every situation and just get it done no matter what your natural knowledge and abilities are.
2. You are always looking to advance your knowledge and willing to take on challenges including in new technologies and can use your previous experience to adapt and complete said unknown tech.
3. You have mastered most of all abilities listed above and wear multiple hats and can articulate between install, programming, PR, and even administration.
AVDI is located in Auburn Indiana, and Specializes in Design, Sales, Installation and Maintenance of Commercial Audio and Video system for the following markets.
- Residential
- Schools
- Sports and Recreation facilities
- Restaurants, Sports Bars – Hospitality
- Corporate Offices
With Experienced Pro Audio/Video, Surveillance and Security
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 yrs. experience in a Commercial Pro or Residential Audio/Video environment as an installer/technician and feel they are ready to move up to a Crew Lead/Installer position.
As a Crew Lead Installer you will supervise and work alongside a team of installers/technicians at customer job sites. As well keeping your team busy from day to day basis.
This position requires knowledge of
- Electrical and mechanical installation methods and codes including wire and cable installation, pulling and termination testing.
- Mechanical installation including rigging, and equipment mounting both on the ground and in the air. Extensive ladder work is involved in this job.
- Various control systems
- Audio and Video Signal flow and troubleshooting.
- Pro Audio/Video installation and distribution methods.
- Surveillance and Security systems
This is a Crew Lead installer/field installer position at customer’s jobsites performing installations and service. This is not a desk job or a production/set up job.
We travel out of town for up to 10 day periods of time. So if you can not travel this job will not be suitable for you.
This position requires much ladder work and some heavy lifting at times.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, neat appearance and strong work ethic are required. You must have a clean driving record.
This position requires experience with mechanical and electrical installation methods as well as Audio and Video systems set up and troubleshooting.
