POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking a full-time Structural/Civil to sit in our West Des Moines, IA office. Our team works with local communities on a wide range of bridge projects. We are looking for a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training who would work with CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Survey Chiefs and office staff in various capacities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.

Prepare plans and specifications for specific projects.

Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.

Assist Project Manager in completing project within budget and on schedule.

Perform structural design calculations.

Use Bentley Microstation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD to aid with design and plan preparation.

Ability to work and train less experienced staff with design and plan preparation tasks.
REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required

5-10 yeras of civil/structural engineering design experience preferred/desired

Iowa PE license or EIT certification or ability to obtain either within 6 months preferred

Previous bridge design experience desired

Strong written and verbal communication skills required

Bridge inspection certification desired

Master’s degree in Structural Engineering optional

Proficiency with Bentley Microstation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD desired
