The Choir Director plays a vital role in shaping the worship experience by incorporating choral music that enhances spiritual engagement. This position follows a 9-month schedule, leading rehearsals, performances, and fostering a collaborative choir community.

- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the choir, encouraging teamwork, camaraderie, and a shared passion for music.
- Identify and develop musical performances that will enhance the worship experience.
- Identify, encourage, and integrate members' musical gifts into worship, special events, and faith formation activities.
- Work in collaboration with all staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in music education, choral conducting or a similar field, preferred
- 3-5 years prior experience conducting choirs, preferred
- A broad understanding of choral repertoire across different genres, styles and historical periods, preferred
- Be knowledgeable of the Lutheran confessions and understand the church’s heritage as a whole and also be familiar with and supportive of all worship and faith styles, preferred
- Have a working knowledge of choral rehearsal techniques and conducting and the ability to work effectively with volunteer choir members, preferred
- Have a passion for music and choral performance, required
- Must possess a positive attitude, demonstrate energy and enthusiasm, and be self-motivated to perform the job effectively, required
- Accompany skills, preferred
- Professional organization affiliations, e.g. American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), preferred
- Understands and will comply with copyright laws, required
- Has experience with coordinating choir performances with an audio/visual technology team, preferred
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalent applications, preferred.
