Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on vehicles using advanced automotive diagnostic tools and schematics to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain various vehicle systems, including powertrain, transmission, suspension, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and maintenance services such as oil changes, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and tire rotations.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to execute repairs with precision and safety.
- Diagnose ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) components and calibrate systems following manufacturer specifications.
- Repair vehicle transmission systems, suspension components, and perform wheel alignments to ensure proper vehicle handling.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete auto estimating procedures, and communicate repair findings clearly to customers.
Skills
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repairs.
- Extensive mechanical knowledge across various vehicle makes and models, especially GM vehicles.
- Proficiency in interpreting automotive wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical systems troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with ADAS calibration, vehicle suspension system repair, powertrain work, and transmission system repair.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive diagnostic software.
- Knowledge of diesel engine repair techniques combined with general automotive service expertise.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and professionally.
- Strong technical proficiency in auto estimating software and maintenance procedures.
