The City of South Jordan is looking for a Full-Time Parks Maintenance Worker to join our Parks Department. This is a full time position with working hours from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm and great time off incentives for performance!
What You'll Do:

Perform general cleaning, maintenance, and repairs to restrooms, pavilions, playgrounds, ball fields, and other park facilities.

Operate a variety of equipment including mowers, trimmers, tractors, and snow removal machinery.

Maintain lawns and landscaped areas by mowing, edging, fertilizing, trimming, pruning, and removing litter.

Prepare and maintain sports fields for events, including baseball, softball, soccer, and football.

Assist with irrigation system installation, repair, and seasonal maintenance.

Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides safely and effectively.

Support City events and activities by setting up and maintaining outdoor spaces.

Participate in on-call and stand-by rotations for snowstorms, emergencies, and other events.
Who You Are:

High school diploma or GED required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Possess a valid Utah Class D Driver License.

Able to obtain a Utah Pesticide Applicators License (Turf & Ornamental) within six months of hire.

Experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or a related field preferred.

Capable of performing physical labor in various weather conditions and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Comfortable working with tools, machinery, and maintenance chemicals.

Able to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment.
