Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using patient management software and electronic health/medical records (EHR/EMR) systems
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and update records accurately while maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with health regulation policies
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly, providing clear information and directing inquiries appropriately
- Collect and process payments, co-pays, deductibles and insurance documentation with attention to detail
- Assist with medical administrative support tasks such as data entry, insurance problem solving, document scanning/shredding, and maintaining organized files
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding appointment details, health forms, and follow-up instructions while demonstrating excellent customer service skills
Experience
- Prior experience working in a Pediatric medical practice or healthcare setting is highly preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and health insurance policies enhances your ability to support patients/parents effectively
- Experience using patient management software or Electronic Health/Medical Records (EHR/EMR) systems is advantageous
- Strong phone communication skills combined with excellent communication abilities to handle diverse patient needs
- Knowledge of health regulation policies ensures compliance with privacy standards such as HIPAA
- Demonstrated ability to type quickly and accurately supports efficient data entry and record keeping
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) for documentation and communication tasks
