Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting the dentist in various pediatric procedures. Responsibilities
- Assist the dentists during dental procedures, including but not limited to, chairside assisting and handing instruments.
- Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring they are disinfected, organized and properly stocked.
- Take x-rays.
- Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care and preventive dental practices.
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials as needed
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments according to regulations
- Record and maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans, clinical notes and medical histories.
- Maintain compliance with infection control and OSHA regulations to uphold the highest standards of safety and cleanliness.
- Schedule appointments and review upcoming appointments to ensure efficient operation in the office.

Skills
- CPR certification
- 1+ years of dental assistant experience required!
- One year of experience working with or caring for children preferred
- One year of customer service experience required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with patients and fellow team members
- Good hand/eye coordination, manual dexterity and precision
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and familiarity with dental terminology.
- Understanding of infection control procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Experience with medical coding for accurate billing processes is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a busy clinic setting.
- A proactive approach to learning new techniques and staying updated on industry best practices.
