Role Description
The Content Creator will work directly with the Social Media Director to plan and then independently shoot, edit, and enhance content tailored for various social media platforms. Possessing an innate understanding of platform nuances and audience preferences, they navigate trends while staying true to the Smarties brand. Their strengths lie in storytelling, complemented by strong communication skills. This role offers a remote work arrangement with occasional onsite presence required for content creation, based at our Union, NJ facility.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate and communicate directly with the Social Media Director to develop, produce and execute social media content to support the social channels.
- This content includes, but is not limited to shooting and editing videos, animated gifs, images, and all other social media creative.
- Use data and analytics to inform content strategy, decision making, and meet goals.
- Keep up with the latest trends and video editing techniques.
- Engage with followers and grow our digital community through content, comments, and DMs.
- Keep asset folders organized.
- Assist in ad-hoc projects for social media and sales teams.
- Coordinate product fulfillment and shipping for creators, brand collaborations, media, and other marketing initiatives.
- Manage day-to-day community engagement across brand social media channels, including responding to comments and direct messages and fostering audience interaction.
- Support day-to-day management of social channels (including posting, scheduling, and publishing content)
Qualifications
- MUST HAVE A PORTFOLIO demonstrating storytelling in TikTok/Reels/YouTube Shorts short-form video format, photography, and links to social media accounts.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience creating and curating content for social media channels, specifically TikTok and Instagram.
- Background with digital marketing initiatives.
- Passion for candy is a plus!
