Steel Detailer / Drafter — Full Time (On-site)
Location: Frederick, CO
Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour DOE
About Us:
We are a small, locally owned steel fabrication and erection company based in Frederick, CO. We deliver quality work for residential, commercial and structural projects and are looking to add a dependable, detail-oriented in-house Steel Detailer/Drafter to our team.
Position Summary:
The Steel Detailer/Drafter will prepare fabrication-ready and erection drawings, perform field measurements, coordinate with engineers, architects, project managers and customers, and support shop and field operations. This is an on-site, full-time position, but 1099 contractors will be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce accurate structural and architectural shop/erection drawings
- Create RFIs and change orders as needed
- Perform field measuring and site visits (company vehicles may be used)
- Coordinate and communicate with engineers, architects, PMs, fabricators and clients as needed
- Ensure drawings meet project specifications and company QA standards
- Maintain project documentation and basic office records
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with Tekla, Autodesk Advance Steel, SDS, or Revit is a strong plus
- Experience reading and producing architectural and structural construction drawings
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid, non-restricted driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Fluent in English
