The ACES Educational Center for the Arts in New Haven, Connecticut is seeking an experienced part-time dance accompanist in modern dance and ballet. Expertise in piano and/or percussion is required. Candidates must have strong improvisational skills and the ability to perform music with appropriate rhythms and tempo.
RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Musical Accompanist for the Dance Department you will work in cooperation with various dance faculty to provide piano and/or percussion accompaniment and musical guidance during dance and modern technique under minimal direction

Playing musical accompaniment for classes

Equipment set up and break down

Improvise and perform music with appropriate rhythms and tempos by observing the movement of dancers

Prepare and be consistent and the studio

Ability to play piano or percussion instruments proficiently and follow musical direction
