American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neurosciences (Stroke & Neuro) unit position working night shifts in a comprehensive stroke center.

Hospital-based Neurosciences unit specializing in stroke and neurology, with additional ortho and spine patients
-
Comprehensive stroke center designation
-
Patient ratios are 3:1 for stroke/step-down patients and 5:1 for all other patients
-
Night shift, 12-hour days, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)

May be required to work in a virtual monitoring room

Stroke experience and NIHSS certification are preferred
-
Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or eNLC Compact)

Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA only)

Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Assumes responsibility for an assigned patient group, including medication administration, IV infusion management, and monitoring physiological data

Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
-
Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and changes in physician orders

Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
-
Delegates appropriate tasks to support staff and makes referrals to other personnel as needed

Precept responsibilities may be required

Travelers with prior assignments at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after 26 cumulative weeks before being eligible for a new contract
