Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical assisting, excellent communication skills, and a passion for patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists in delivering high-quality dental treatments, ensure smooth clinic operations, and promote a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. Your expertise in dental procedures, infection control, and medical documentation will be essential to maintaining our standards of excellence.
Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools while adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Manage patient records efficiently within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform chairside assisting duties including taking vital signs, explaining procedures to patients, and providing post-treatment instructions.
- Maintain aseptic technique and infection control standards to prevent cross-contamination and ensure patient safety.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing medical documentation and records.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, dental terminology, and treatment plans tailored to pediatric dentistry needs when applicable.
- Conduct medical documentation and coding for insurance claims or billing processes related to dental procedures.
- Assist with the operation of dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other diagnostic tools while maintaining proper calibration and safety standards.
- Uphold high standards of professionalism and teamwork through effective communication with colleagues and patients alike.
Qualifications
- Certification of Dental Assistant and completion of training program
- HS Diploma
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with comprehensive knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security.
- Experience with dental imaging techniques including X-ray technology and 3D scanning equipment.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in various specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, or pediatric dentistry.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care and pediatrics is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred but not mandatory.

Pay: $25.41 - $30.60 per hour
Expected hours: 21 – 35 per week
