Shop Fabricator (Industrial Sewing Experience Required)
Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a Shop Fabricator for a temp-to-hire opportunity in the Lorton, VA area.

Pay: $20–$21/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Hours: 8-hour shifts (with potential overtime)
Start Date: ASAP
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated, mechanically inclined Shop Fabricator with industrial sewing experience required to join our production team. This role involves fabricating rigging and industrial products made from synthetic materials, steel cable, and chain assemblies used in heavy lifting and cargo securement applications.
This is a hands-on manufacturing role requiring strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to operate production equipment efficiently. We are willing to train the right candidate with the required sewing and mechanical background.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate rigging products including synthetic slings, wire rope, and chain assemblies
- Perform industrial sewing and fabrication of synthetic materials
- Operate and maintain heavy-duty production equipment safely and efficiently
- Measure, cut, sew, and assemble materials to precise specifications
- Read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations accurately
- Follow production schedules to meet quality and output goals
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a production team
- Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Industrial sewing experience required
- Mechanically inclined with strong hand dexterity
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic addition/subtraction
- Understanding of general manufacturing safety practices
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Reliable transportation required
- Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, walk, push, pull, and lift for extended periods
- Must be able to move throughout a production floor safely and efficiently
- Ability to work in a loud manufacturing environment
- Must be able to lift and handle materials as required
