Description:
The Export Shipper is responsible for preparing, documenting, and coordinating domestic and international shipments in compliance with company policies and export regulations. This role ensures timely and accurate delivery of goods while maintaining compliance with customs, trade, and transportation requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process domestic and international shipments according to customer and regulatory requirements.
- Create and verify export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, and shipping labels.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations, customs laws, and international shipping requirements.
- Coordinate shipments with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and internal departments.
- Schedule pickups and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Verify shipment accuracy a Products sales orders, purchase orders, and packing instructions.
- Package products securely to prevent damage during transportation.
- Maintain records of export transactions and shipping documentation.
- Operate shipping software and ERP systems to process orders and generate shipping documents.
- Monitor inventory of shipping supplies and packaging materials.
- Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, delays, or customs issues.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
- Assist with warehouse, receiving, and inventory activities as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 to 2 years of shipping experience. (Domestic and International Shipping).
- 0 - 1 year of general warehouse experience preferred.
- Knowledge of export documentation and customs procedures (Commercial Invoices and HS/HTS codes).
- Familiarity with shipping carriers such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, and freight providers.
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and shipping software.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Forklift certification.
- Knowledge of Incoterms and international trade compliance.
- Experience working with hazardous materials shipping regulations preferred (Trainable).
Working Conditions:
- Warehouse and shipping dock environment.
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and bending.
- May require overtime during peak shipping periods.

- Maintain accurate and compliant export documentation.
- Meet shipping deadlines and customer delivery expectations.
- Minimize shipping errors and compliance issues.
- Maintain organized and safe shipping areas.
