Provisional Licensed Physician – Internal Medicine / Family Medicine
Position Summary
Provide comprehensive outpatient medical care to patients in a primary care or specialty clinic under a Texas provisional physician license. Practice under the supervision required by the Texas Medical Board while delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
Essential Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients with acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Obtain medical histories and perform physical examinations.
- Diagnose illnesses and develop treatment plans.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic studies.
- Prescribe medications and other treatments as permitted by the provisional license and clinic policies.
- Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and heart disease.
- Perform office-based procedures within your training and approved scope of practice.
- Provide preventive care, including annual wellness visits, vaccinations, and health screenings.
- Refer patients to specialists when appropriate.
- Document all patient encounters in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Coordinate care with nurses, medical assistants, pharmacists, and specialists.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and continuing medical education.
- Work collaboratively with the supervising physician and comply with all Texas Medical Board requirements.
Qualifications
- Medical degree from an eligible international medical school.
- Foreign medical license in good standing.
- Completion of postgraduate training (residency or equivalent).
- Texas provisional physician license.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Strong communication and patient-care skills.
In practice, your day could look very much like that of a primary care physician:
- See 15–25 patients per day (depending on the clinic).
- Manage new and follow-up visits.
- Review laboratory and imaging results.
- Prescribe medications.
- Complete documentation.
- Consult with your supervising physician when required by the supervision plan.
Pay: $50.00 - $100.00 per hour
