Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and assist during gynecological and obstetric procedures, including pap smears, ultrasounds, and minor surgeries.
- Take and record patient vital signs, medical histories, and current medications accurately within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Support patient intake processes by verifying insurance information, updating medical records, and explaining procedures clearly.
- Assist with specimen collection, phlebotomy, and basic laboratory tasks such as X-ray coordination and specimen labeling.
- Manage medical documentation with precision, including ICD coding, medication administration records, and detailed notes on patient visits.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, offering comfort, and ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Support clinic operations by managing appointment scheduling, maintaining medical supplies, and coordinating with hospital or outpatient departments as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical office support or clinical assisting within obstetrics/gynecology or related specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, or urgent care.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation and record management.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or X-ray technician are a plus.
- Inpatient or outpatient experience at hospital settings—particularly Level I or Level II trauma centers—is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on patient care and service excellence; ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Familiarity with ICD coding, medication administration protocols, and medical-surgical procedures enhances your effectiveness in this role.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
