West Loop Law is seeking an experienced and highly organized Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to join our growing litigation team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of personal injury case management, litigation procedures, and trial preparation, with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-claim investigation, legal research and initial case assessments
- Draft pleadings, motions and appellate documents and file them with the court
- Coordinate and maintain case calendars, deadlines, hearings, depositions, and mediations
- Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, experts, and opposing counsel
- Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
- Obtain, review, and summarize medical records, billing records, and accident reports
- Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices
- Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
- Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
- Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties
- Assist with voir dire, jury selection and witnesses preparation
- E-file documents in state and federal courts
Qualifications
- Minimum [2–5] years of personal injury litigation paralegal experience
- Experience handling plaintiff personal injury cases preferred
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred
- Spanish speaking required
- Strong understanding of personal injury litigation procedures and deadlines
- Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, personal Injury litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices etc
- Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
- Extensive computer and database skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a legal team
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
