The paraprofessional supports the classroom teacher, including physical education class(es), by providing educational assistance and other assigned duties to maintain a positive learning environment that serves the diverse needs of students. The paraprofessional communicates with the classroom teacher, as well as, collaborating with the rest of the educational team at Summit. The paraprofessional will demonstrate a friendly attitude and positive behavior; maintain a consistent attendance and punctuality; maintain respect and dignity for students, parents and staff; maintain confidentiality in all areas; exercise flexibility, patience and self discipline in dealing with students, parents and staff; be cognizant of safety at all times and demonstrate a working knowledge of emergency procedures.
Daily work schedule: In the assigned room at 7:30 a.m. through 1:30 p.m.
Requirements: Valid Paraprofessional licensure in the state of Illinois. Bilingual in Spanish ideal but not required.
