About Us
In 1992, Catherine King founded King Law Office with a calling to serve families in Redding, CA — and over three decades, she's built it into a true community fixture. Guided by faith and a deep well of empathy, Catherine and her dedicated team offer more than legal expertise; they bring a compassionate, listening presence to every client relationship. Catherine believes in walking alongside clients with genuine care, honoring their unique legacy vision, and working diligently to help them achieve their estate planning goals.
Legacy building, commitment to excellence, and a community-first mindset set the firm apart as a trusted and faithful legal ally.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Interaction: Serve as a compassionate point of contact for clients navigating trust administration, probate, and conservatorship proceedings. Demonstrate an ability to explain complex legal processes in clear, understandable terms, provide regular case updates, and offer steady support during what is often a difficult and emotional time. Support the firm's long-term client relationship model by helping clients feel protected, understood, and confident in their planning.
- Estate Planning: Lead and support estate planning matters, including client design meetings, attorney review, and signing meetings. Draft, review, and analyze estate planning documents, including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, advance health care directives, deeds, and related planning documents.
- Trust Administration: Administer routine trusts, including trustee guidance, beneficiary notices, asset inventory and valuation, accountings, distributions, and final closure.
- Probate & Estate Administration: Manage probate matters from petition through final distribution. Handle estate administration matters that fall between probate and trust administration, including small-estate affidavits, spousal property petitions, summary procedures, and matters requiring attorney judgment.
- Case & Document Management: Independently manage a substantial and varied caseload, tracking critical deadlines, court dates, and filing requirements, while prioritizing competing demands and maintaining meticulous, organized case files.
- Efficiency: Quickly learns our processes and adapts to proven workflows. Given our flat-fee case structure, the ability to collaborate effectively with legal assistants, paralegals, and firm leadership to move matters forward efficiently, while maintaining a high level of client service, is essential.
