Seeking part time RN for local non-profit, Better Health.
The Clinic RN is responsible for seeing clients during the weekly diabetes education programs and conducting screenings as needed. Other responsibilities include maintaining adequate clinic records, reporting data for the diabetes management program and ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations for licensure.
Works closely with Executive Director, and Health Education Coordinator. Average of 10 hours weekly.
Education and training: RN degree. CDCES preferred. Licensure in the State of North Carolina as appropriate. Two years work experience in diabetic education. Hospital or healthcare related experience is preferred.
Strong organizational skills, ability to coordinate multiple tasks and excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Strong clinical and assessment skills and a passion for improving health outcomes in Cumberland County. Spanish speaking preferred.
Major Job Duties:
- Perform diabetic screenings on clients via blood glucose and BP monitoring
- Evaluate client needs
- Discuss medications and/or medical concerns with clients
- Use clinical assessment skills to make medically appropriate recommendations
- Provide health education to clients
- Properly document client visits in the client chart
- Provide clinic data to Health Education Coordinator
- Ensure client confidentiality
