American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a Level 3 NICU day shift position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and proficiency in both neonatal and adult critical care.

Primary work setting is a Level 3 NICU within a hospital environment
-
Neonatal patient population with gestational age >22 weeks, including high-risk, low-volume bedside procedures
-
Responsibilities require proficiency in neonatal intubation, arterial blood sampling, and airway management, as well as adult critical care skills including intubation and arterial line insertion

Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Every other weekend required

No on-call required

Floating within hospital scope of practice and to a sister facility as needed

RRT credential required — CRT not accepted

Minimum 2 years of NICU or critical care respiratory therapy experience

Proficiency in neonatal intubation, arterial blood gas sampling, and high-risk bedside procedures required

Adult critical care skills including intubation, airway management, and arterial line insertion required

Active professional licensure required at time of consideration

Copies of all certifications listed in the position description required for consideration

RTO is capped at 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment

Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two of them

Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler

No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted — the posted shift is firm

Candidates undergo a clinical review process to assess clinical fit prior to manager consideration

Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed on time to avoid orientation schedule delays
