Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Reports to: Quality Assurance Supervisor

Summary: The Quality Assurance Technician supports the company's quality and food safety programs by monitoring and verifying that products meet established quality, safety, regulatory, and customer requirements. This role performs inspections, testing, and documentation throughout the production process and collaborates closely with Production, Quality, and leadership teams to support continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work collaboratively across departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform daily quality inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
- Document inspection results, nonconformance reports, corrective actions, and related quality records in accordance with company and customer requirements.
- Verify the accuracy of nutritional information, labels, and ingredient statements.
- Monitor and verify that products are manufactured in accordance with customer specifications, internal procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and support compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety standards, and company safety policies.
- Calibrate, verify, and maintain quality testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
- Perform environmental swabbing and product sampling; complete required transmittal forms and coordinate laboratory sample pickups per customer and company specifications.
- Support the investigation and resolution of quality issues, including internal findings and customer complaints.
- Ensure nonconforming materials are properly identified, segregated, and dispositioned in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of work areas in compliance with company standards.
- Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality documentation.
- Maintain accurate and complete records in accordance with customer specifications, internal procedures, and audit requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, food safety, and operational efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent experience; post-secondary degree preferred.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to follow work instructions and complete required documentation.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous food manufacturing or quality assurance experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures consistently.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a production environment while meeting established timelines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Ability to support varying production schedules and locations based on business needs; reliable transportation required
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Primarily based in a manufacturing/production environment and quality laboratory within a food manufacturing facility.
- Regularly works on the production floor and in laboratory areas; may also perform limited administrative work using standard office equipment (computer, phone, printer).
- Exposed to varying temperatures, humidity, noise levels, and food manufacturing odors typical of a production environment.
- Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including hairnets, gloves, and lab coats.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, and moving throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30–50 pounds, as required for sampling, materials, or equipment handling.

Pay Range and Benefits
Pay Range: $17.00-$21.00 per hour, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
