Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on used vehicles using advanced automotive diagnostic tools and schematics to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain vehicle systems including engines, powertrains, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and steering components.
- Conduct engine repairs, including diesel engine work and automotive engine system repairs, ensuring optimal performance.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot electrical issues effectively.
- Execute wheel alignments, vehicle maintenance tasks, and heavy lifting procedures safely using power tools and manual handling techniques.
- Utilize welding and other mechanical repair skills for auto body repairs when necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience or hands-on mechanic experience with a strong understanding of automotive systems.
- Knowledge of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology and automotive electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret automotive schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals accurately.
- Experience with diesel engine repair, engine diagnostics, and powertrain maintenance.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostic tools and electronic testing equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Physical capability for manual handling tasks involved in vehicle repair and maintenance activities.
