Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CT Technologist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical imaging, with expertise in computed tomography (CT) procedures and related diagnostic techniques. This role involves performing advanced imaging studies with precision and ensuring patient safety while supporting diagnostic evaluation efforts within a dynamic healthcare setting.
Duties
- Operate CT imaging equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes, including specialized scans such as PET scans and DEXA scans.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them accurately, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Monitor patient physiology during procedures, adjusting techniques as needed based on anatomy knowledge and medical terminology understanding.
- Assist with other diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-ray, mammography, sonography, or nuclear medicine when required.
- Ensure all imaging equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning optimally; report any malfunctions promptly.
- Document procedures thoroughly in compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of medical imaging modalities including CT, PET scan, mammography, DEXA scan, X-ray, sonography, and nuclear medicine techniques.
- Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to diagnostic radiology procedures.
- Experience working in urgent care settings or Level I/II trauma centers with emergency room exposure preferred.
- Familiarity with emergency medicine protocols and Level II trauma center experience enhances diagnostic evaluation capabilities.
- Proficiency in medical terminology combined with aseptic technique practices ensures safe patient care.
- Ability to operate complex imaging equipment accurately while maintaining patient comfort.
