Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Wound Care Registered Nurse to provide specialized nursing care focused on the assessment, treatment, and management of complex wounds. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of wound healing processes, advanced clinical skills, and a passion for improving patient outcomes. Weekly Gross Pay: $2,500.00
Weekly Taxable Pay: $820.00
Nontaxable Weekly: $1,680.00

Genie Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced RN – WOUND CARE. to fill an opening in Saint Paul, MN for $62.50/hr. (Taxed+ nontaxed)
Requirements of the RN WOUND CARE:
● Must have a valid state MN License or Compact license.
● Must have AHA BLS.
● Must have 2+ years of RN WOUND CARE.

Responsibilities of the RN WOUND CARE.:
- Shift: 8-hours Day
- Shift Details: 8.00 AM to 4.30 PM
- 40 hours/week. (5*8)
- 13-week assignment
- Conduct thorough wound assessments, including documentation of wound characteristics, measurements, and healing progress using advanced electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Develop and implement comprehensive wound management plans that incorporate therapies such as debridement, dressings, compression therapy, and adjunct treatments like Botulinum toxin when appropriate.
- Administer specialized procedures including suturing, sterile dressing changes, and advanced techniques for ostomy and ostomy care.
- Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient recovery and prevent complications.
- Educate patients and their families on wound care techniques, infection prevention strategies, and lifestyle modifications to promote healing.
- Monitor for signs of infection or deterioration, adjusting treatment plans accordingly while maintaining aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain meticulous medical documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in EMR/EHR systems such as Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks.
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with current state licensure required.
- Extensive clinical experience in wound care management within hospital settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or specialized clinics.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems including Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced wound therapies including debridement, suturing, ostomy care, and infection control protocols.
- Knowledge of complex medical conditions affecting wound healing such as diabetes mellitus, vascular disease, or infectious diseases.
- Experience working with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs preferred.
- Critical care experience in ICU or emergency medicine environments is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and laboratory specimen processing.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on self-care strategies.
- Ability to work independently while functioning effectively within multidisciplinary teams committed to delivering high-quality patient-centered care.
