Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center has an immediate openings for a Part-time WIC Nutrition Assistant. The WIC Nutrition Assistant serves as support staff for the Clark County WIC Project in roles of Clerk and Health Screener.
24 Hours per Week
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.
Other duties may be required and assigned.
Provide clerical and/or health screener support for the Clark County WIC Program.
Provide excellent customer service by providing services in a friendly, timely, considerate and confidential manner; solicit and address participant concerns, documenting complaints; and manage clinic flow
Follow WIC State Operations Manual/Federal/local guidelines.
Complete application intake.
Prescreen applicants for WIC by applying income guidelines, categorical and residential eligibility using process standards.
Determine eligibility; make referrals per policy; document intake and other applicable participant
information; initiate Rights and Responsibilities form; identify anthropometric and hematological screenings needed.
Obtain accurate weights, accurate height and hemoglobin measurements
Document all measurements and deferrals accurately
Issue WIC and Farmers Market Nutrition Program food instruments to participants
Use reports and data related to scheduling, draft issuance, and participant fraud/abuse as directed.
Schedule appointments for optimal clinic flow and show rates by making appointments in Scheduler and follow-up on no-shows.
Promote breastfeeding with support of WIC education messages and referrals of participants to appropriate WIC staff
Maintain safety standards for procedures using agency Universal Precautions/Blood borne pathogen exposure control plan including: maintain cleanliness on all surfaces and equipment; follow proper procedure to reduce risk of infection from blood borne pathogens; and dispose of lab wastes/materials properly.
