Entry-Level Plumber
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Roving Entry-Level Plumber is responsible for the routine installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems across residential and commercial units within the Preservation Logistics portfolio. Work spans apartments, commercial spaces, basements, crawl spaces, and common areas. This role requires foundational plumbing knowledge, a commitment to code compliance, and the professionalism to deliver quality service in an occupied, community-focused environment.
SCHEDULE & GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Monday – Friday (some Saturdays and overtime possible)
Physical: Ability to lift 50–75+ lbs and remain on your feet for full shifts
License: Valid, clean driver’s license required (small truck operation)
Standards: Maintain high customer service standards while performing physically demanding work
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshooting — Identify the root cause of leaks, low water pressure, and blockages through systematic diagnosis.
- System Testing — Fill plumbing systems with water and verify that all lines are watertight and correctly plumbed before sign-off.
- Clearing Obstructions — Remove clogs from drains and sewer lines using large and small drain snakes as appropriate.
- Repairs & Replacements — Fix or replace faucets, sinks, pumps, pipes, valves, toilets, and other fixtures or worn-out equipment using standard hand and power tools.
- Preventive Maintenance — Conduct routine inspections of building plumbing systems to verify safe and efficient operation.
- Code Compliance — Ensure all work adheres to applicable local and national plumbing codes and building standards.
- Site Preparation — Cover and protect furniture and flooring with drop cloths and masking tape prior to commencing work.
- Tool & Material Management — Set up and maintain organized, safe job sites; account for all tools and materials throughout each assignment.
- Environment Adaptability — Perform work across varying conditions including indoor/outdoor settings, basements, and crawl spaces.
- Ladder & Tool Safety — Safely climb 6-foot ladders and operate both hand and power tools in compliance with all safety protocols.
- Complete all additional tasks and project management requests as directed by the Operations Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated experience in a plumbing role (residential or commercial).
- Basic working knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and repair techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in occupied buildings.
