Job Summary
Upen Group is seeking a motivated Junior Data Analyst to support reporting, data analysis, and business intelligence initiatives. This position is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to gain hands-on experience with SQL, Excel, Power BI, and data visualization tools.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in working with data, identifying trends, improving reporting processes, and helping teams make data-driven decisions.
Responsibilities
- Write and maintain basic SQL queries to extract, analyze, and validate data
- Perform data cleaning, formatting, and validation using Microsoft Excel
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools
- Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and data-quality issues
- Support recurring reports and ad hoc business requests
- Document reporting processes, metrics, and data definitions
- Collaborate with internal teams supporting vendor and client projects
- Assist with developing data-driven recommendations to improve business operations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
- Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools
- Understanding of reporting, key performance indicators, and data-quality concepts
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities
- Recent graduates and candidates with zero to two years of experience are encouraged to apply
Eligibility Requirements
- DFW-area candidates only
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (green card holder)
- No OPT, CPT, F-1, H-1B, or employment sponsorship is available
- Must be able to pass all required background and client security screenings
- Some assignments may have additional security-clearance requirements
