American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with 2+ years of recent acute care experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a critical access hospital providing inpatient, swing bed, and outpatient rehab services.

Critical access hospital with 25 staffed beds serving inpatient, swing bed (skilled), and outpatient rehabilitation needs
-
PT department covers acute care inpatient, skilled swing bed, and outpatient clinic settings
-
Daily patient load of approximately 8 visits per day

Patient population includes geriatrics and orthopedics

Preferred experience with equipment including gait belts, Hoyer lifts, sit-to-stand lifts, sliding boards, standard and rolling walkers, crutches, upper and lower extremity prosthetics, shoulder slings, supplemental oxygen, and traction tables

Charting via Epic; experience preferred

Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts)

Clinician may float within the rehab service line to meet facility needs

No weekend requirements

No on-call requirements

13-week contract

Minimum 2 years of recent physical therapy experience required, with at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months and no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past year

Active Kansas and Missouri PT licenses (or compact license) required and must be in hand at time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted

BLS certification preferred

Experience in acute care required; experience in outpatient and SNF settings preferred

Proficiency in PT documentation including assessments, evaluations, plan of care, short- and long-term goals, reassessments, and discharge summaries

Experience with body mechanics, pain assessment, strength testing, and vital signs assessment

Strong time management skills

Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; locals are not accepted

2 professional references required: at least one must be supervisor level or above; the second may be a charge-level clinician; all references must be from individuals who have worked with the candidate within the past year

License required if applicable

Previous charge experience is preferred

First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted for the duration of the contract

Block scheduling is not available for this assignment
