MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with all aspects of tree planting work, from site design to excavation, planting, and post-planting care for the In-house Tree Planting Program (IHTP).
- Record crew work and other data entry tasks into the Forestry Management System and Forestry Contract Management System on tablet and desktop computer.
- Assist with loading and unloading trees, tools, and materials for planting and excavation in the field and in the yard. Assist with tree watering.
- Assist Senior Forester and Project Specialist with surveying for tree planting and associated data entry.
- Assist with tree delivery coordination as needed.
- Drive vehicles and operate title-appropriate motorized equipment.

Qualification Requirements
1. There are no formal education or experience requirements for this position.
2. A Motor Vehicle Driver's License valid in the State of New York is required.
3. Ability to read and to understand and obey orders is required.
4. There are certain medical and physical requirements.
1. Ability to drive to locations in all 5 boroughs. 2. Ability to learn to identify tree species. 3. Familiar with chainsaw and power tool maintenance. 4. Ability to interact with staff in a courteous and professional manner. 5. Ability to work flexible hours, nights and weekends as needed. 6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 7. Ability to work independently. 8. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative Suite.
