Job Overview
The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting the execution of engineering projects from initiation through completion. This role serves as a liaison between technical teams, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
The Project Engineer supports project planning, scheduling, risk management, scope definition, and project execution activities while providing technical and administrative support to Project Managers and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Support the development, maintenance, and monitoring of project schedules and ensure alignment with overall program and project timelines.
- Assist in the creation, implementation, and execution of project plans.
- Facilitate project risk identification, assessment, and mitigation activities.
- Support schedule, budget, and scope reviews to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Assist in the development and execution of the overall program delivery strategy.
- Partner with Project Managers to define project scope, estimate resources and effort requirements, and support project execution.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
- Coordinate activities among engineering teams, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Manage and maintain project documentation, technical reports, meeting minutes, and action item tracking.
- Support procurement activities, vendor coordination, and contract-related project tasks.
- Identify and help resolve technical and project-related issues to minimize project impact.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in project meetings and facilitate communication between project team members and stakeholders.
Profile and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Project Engineering, Project Coordination, Project Management, or a related engineering role.
- Experience supporting project schedules, budgets, scope management, and project execution activities.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and best practices.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preffered Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, construction, industrial, or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
- Knowledge of risk management methodologies and project controls.
- Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, and procurement activities.
