American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU Float Pool position at an academic medical center in Chapel Hill, NC, requiring at least one year of nursing experience and the ability to float across multiple ICU specialties.

Float pool position covering all ICU units within a large academic medical center, including Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and Burn Center ICUs

May also float to stepdown units as needed

Patient ratios are generally 1:1, with a maximum of 1:3 in ICU settings; stepdown ratios are 1:3
-
Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)

Every other weekend (EOW) required
-
Every other holiday (EOH) required
-
No on-call required

Active NC RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)

Current ACLS certification
-
Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required

Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required; BSN or MSN preferred

Two professional references required for consideration

Coordinates and delivers patient care using the nursing process across multiple ICU specialties in an academic medical center setting
-
Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams for patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care

Participates in discharge planning, patient/family education, and performance improvement activities
-
Drug screening must be completed within 24 hours of accepting an offer; allow at least 2 weeks for background check and drug screen results to be processed
