Overview Direct Care Staff – Therapeutic Group Home (Boys Residential Program)
Greater He, LLC is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Care Staff to provide supervision, support, and mentoring to adolescent males in a therapeutic residential group home. Staff are responsible for creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment while helping residents develop independent living skills, emotional regulation, healthy relationships, and positive behaviors. This position requires professionalism, patience, consistency, and the ability to work effectively with youth who have experienced trauma, behavioral challenges, and mental health concerns.
Responsibilities
- Provide continuous supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of residents.
- Build positive, professional relationships with youth through mentoring and guidance.
- Implement individualized treatment plans, behavior support plans, and daily programming.
- Assist residents with daily living skills, including hygiene, chores, meal preparation, and life skills.
- Facilitate recreational, educational, and community-based activities.Monitor and document resident behaviors, incidents, medication administration (if trained), and daily progress.
- Transport residents to appointments, school, court, and community activities using company vehicles.Utilize trauma-informed care and de-escalation techniques during behavioral crises.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with DBHDS, Medicaid, and agency standards.
- Participate in shift change communication and team meetings.
Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic home environment.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies following agency policies and procedures.

Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Valid Virginia driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass criminal background check, Child Protective Services check, and drug screening.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as needed.
- Ability to safely perform crisis intervention techniques and physically assist during emergencies when required.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
Preferred
- Experience working with children, adolescents, or adults with behavioral health needs.
- Experience in residential treatment, group homes, foster care, juvenile justice, education, mental health, or human services.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and behavior management.
- Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) experience is a plus.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
