Mark-Dana Corporation, a full service real estate company in Spring, Texas is a family owned company that has been developing, building and managing multi-family housing for over 40 years. We are currently seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Senior Property Accountant in our property management division.
The Property Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of financial accounting and reporting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Compile and analyze financial information for multiple projects in preparation for entry into ERP system
- Review A/P activity for correct posting and select invoices for payment
- Monitor cash balances and prepare funding requests
- Perform bank reconciliations, post recurring income and expense adjustments, including mortgage payments, prepaids and accrued expenses
- Perform monthly general ledger account analysis and reconciliations
- Compare revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices and other items to budget and research and resolve discrepancies if necessary
- Effectively communicate with management to assist and facilitate monthly pre-close and close activities to ensure timely company reporting and distribution of financial statements
- Assist with annual audit inquiries and requests
- Complete various financial, accounting, administrative and/or projects and duties as assigned
Basic Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field from an accredited college or university is preferred
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in the property management field
- Must be able to display a strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting with demonstrated application of GAAP
- Successful candidate will possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Candidate must be highly motivated and able to work independently with strong time management and multi-tasking skills
- Experience with financial and property management systems like Yardi, One Site, etc. a plus
Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
