Phone Operator / Medical Records Specialists support centralized administrative operations. This position is responsible for managing incoming calls, assisting with patient and provider inquiries, and maintaining accurate and secure medical records. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience with electronic medical records, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (List does not include all duties assigned)

Answer and manage a multi-line phone system while providing professional and courteous assistance to patients, providers, and staff.

Route calls appropriately and document accurate messages for the correct departments or providers.

Gather and verify patient demographic and personal information when assisting with calls or record requests.

Process medical record requests and assist with scanning documentation into patient charts.

Ensure all medical records are handled in compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards.

Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient communication and workflow.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Strong data entry skills and experience with EMR or EHR systems (Cerner a plus).

Ability to gather, verify, and update patient demographic information accurately.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Knowledge of proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation for accurate documentation.

Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate work activities effectively.

Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, staff, and patients.

EDUCATON: High School Diploma or GED required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience in a medical office, call center, or healthcare administrative role preferred

Experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
WORK LOCATION: In-Person, Full-time, Monday - Friday
