Security Officer – ICS Security (Landover, MD)

ICS Security is currently hiring Security Officers to join our growing team in the Landover area. We’re looking for dependable, motivated individuals who take pride in helping make their communities safer and more secure.
Important Update (Effective January 1, 2025):
All applicants without a Maryland Security Guard Certification must complete the MPCTC state-mandated 12-hour Security Guard Course before beginning work.
ICS offers this course in-office to selected candidates. Details will be provided during the interview process.
About the Position:
As a Security Officer with ICS Security, you’ll play a vital role in safeguarding our clients’ properties, employees, and customers. Our sites include grocery stores primarliy in the area. You’ll act as a visible deterrent, provide excellent customer service, and maintain a secure environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct foot patrols and scan designated checkpoints
- Maintain a strong security presence to deter theft, vandalism, and loitering
- Observe and accurately report incidents to supervisors and clients
- Write detailed daily activity reports
- Provide peace of mind and exceptional service to our clients and their communities
Requirements:
- Reliable transportation
- Active Maryland Guard Card (required – out-of-state licenses not accepted)
- Valid, non-expired state-issued ID
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Preferred:
- Valid driver’s license (required for mobile patrol positions)
Experience:
No prior security experience required!

Physical Requirements:
Most sites require standing for the duration of the shift and may involve walking, climbing stairs, or entering/exiting vehicles.
