Traverse Health Clinic is actively seeking to fill a Medical Assistant opportunity with a focus in our Primary Care clinic setting requiring a compassionate, positively contributing, mission-driven team member!
Open to various skillset considerations: non-certified/non-registered MA, CNA, LPN.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Room patients; take vitals; document chief patient concerns; medical, family, social histories, allergy information; document/update medications.
- Perform routine, guided medical procedures. Collect and prepare lab specimens as may be directed. Perform basic laboratory tests including blood draws with training provided if needed.
- Confer frequently with providers to assess, monitor and evaluate patients’ care plan.
- Assist with patient discharge as needed providing self-care instructions, needed paperwork and/or medical supplies.
- Assist providers when instructed by ordering diagnostic tests, making referrals for needed support and treatment services within the greater community and linking patients with medication access programs.
- Facilitate chart preparation activities for up-coming appointments.
- Use practice management system and electronic medical record as appropriate to record/query patient data.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate or GED. Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant and/or License Practical Nurse preferred but not required.
- Sufficient experience to carry out duties of the position. Prior experience and proven ability to work as a team member and with the public.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse populations of varying socioeconomic backgrounds.
