Peninsula Catholic Regional School is seeking a Virginia State Certified English Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year.

Position Summary
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about teaching English while serving as a positive role model and supporting the mission of Catholic education. The ideal candidate will foster a love of learning, create a welcoming classroom environment, and inspire students to grow academically, socially, and spiritually.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will

Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate English Language Arts lessons that foster a love of reading, writing, literature, and critical thinking.

Create a positive, nurturing classroom environment where students feel encouraged to participate, express themselves, and succeed.

Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing timely, constructive feedback to students and families.

Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of all students.

Inspire students to become confident readers, thoughtful writers, and effective communicators while recognizing their achievements and supporting them through challenges.

Maintain effective classroom management while fostering respect, responsibility, collaboration, and Christian values.

Collaborate with faculty, staff, and parents to support the academic, social, and spiritual growth of each student.

Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school activities.

Contribute to the life of the school beyond the classroom through extracurricular activities, committees, or other assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications

Virginia State teaching certification (or eligibility for certification) in English.

Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.

Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Ability to integrate Catholic values into the educational environment.
