Position Overview
We’re looking for a Small Engine Technician to join our service team. This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines and outdoor power equipment, including handheld tools, lawn mowers, generators, snowblowers, and similar equipment. You’ll work closely with our Service Writer and shop technicians to keep customer equipment running smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair small engines and outdoor power equipment
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and tune‑ups
- Assemble new equipment for delivery or showroom display
- Communicate clearly with the Service Writer about repair needs, timelines, and parts
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Document work performed with accuracy and attention to detail
- Assist customers and coworkers with equipment questions when needed
- Follow dealership procedures and uphold Topsham Tractor’s service standards
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with small engines
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills
- Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple jobs at once
- Comfortable in a customer‑facing environment when needed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and grow within the dealership
- Prior dealership or equipment experience is a plus but not required
Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
