The Park Rapids Area Schools Athletic department is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Junior High Volleyball Coach at Park Rapids High School for the upcoming season. This seasonal position is ideal for someone who has a strong understanding of volleyball fundamentals and a desire to foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth among young athletes. The coach will be responsible for developing players' skills, promoting a positive team environment, and ensuring a fun and educational experience for all participants.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct daily practice sessions that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies.
- Develop and implement a season-long training program that aligns with the goals of the junior high volleyball program.
- Organize and manage team activities, including games, tournaments, and team-building events.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school staff regarding schedules, expectations, and player progress.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages participation and personal growth.
- Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes during practices and competitions.
- Assist in the evaluation of player performance and provide constructive feedback to help athletes improve.
- Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to promote the volleyball program and enhance the overall athletic experience.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience or playing experience in volleyball, particularly at the junior high or high school level.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with athletes, parents, and staff.
- Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes while maintaining a positive and supportive environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- First Aid and CPR certification is preferred but not required.
- Availability to commit to the entire season, including practices, games, and team events.
- A background check may be required prior to employment.
