Role: End User Compute Engineer
Location: Hybrid, Lakeville, MN (3 days onsite)
Compensation: $35/hour W2
Position Summary
We are seeking an End User Compute Engineer to provide hands-on technical support and endpoint management for a growing enterprise environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical issues, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and serving as a trusted technology partner across the organization.
You will support a broad range of end-user technologies, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, collaboration platforms, and conference room technologies. In addition to day-to-day support, you'll play an important role in improving endpoint management, patching strategies, conference room reliability, and overall user productivity.

Key Responsibilities
End User Support & Issue Resolution

Resolve technical issues from a prioritized support queue, ensuring timely and professional service.

Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, networking, and end-user computing issues across Windows, macOS, mobile devices, printers, phones, and peripherals.

Provide support for both onsite and remote employees while maintaining a consistent user experience across locations.

Deliver high-touch support to senior leaders and key stakeholders when required.

Communicate clearly with users, provide status updates, and ensure issues are fully resolved.
Collaboration & Meeting Technology Support

Support, maintain, and troubleshoot conference room technologies, including Microsoft Teams Rooms, video conferencing systems, digital displays, projectors, and related AV equipment.

Ensure meeting rooms are operational, reliable, and ready for business-critical meetings.

Assist with deployment and optimization of collaboration technologies across multiple sites.
Endpoint Administration & Device Management

Configure, deploy, secure, and support endpoint devices in accordance with enterprise standards.

Utilize endpoint management platforms such as Intune, ManageEngine, or similar tools to manage devices and software.

Support endpoint security initiatives, including BitLocker, multi-factor authentication, single sign-on technologies, and compliance requirements.

Develop and enhance endpoint patching and software deployment processes to improve reliability and reduce risk.
IT Operations & Cross-Functional Partnership

Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, and productivity teams to resolve complex technical issues.

Support enterprise technology initiatives, including software rollouts, system upgrades, and infrastructure changes.

Manage and prioritize requests through the IT service management platform.

Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures.
Continuous Improvement

Identify recurring issues, analyze trends, and recommend long-term solutions.

Conduct proactive system checks and preventative maintenance activities.

Help improve support processes, workflows, and user experiences across the organization.

Provide training, guidance, and knowledge sharing to end users and junior support staff.
Required Qualifications
-
3+ years of experience in IT support, desktop engineering, endpoint management, or a similar end-user computing role.

Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows environments, Microsoft 365 applications, mobile devices, hardware, peripherals, and collaboration technologies.

Experience supporting enterprise endpoint technologies, including device configuration, deployment, patching, and lifecycle management.

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Ability to lift up to 45 pounds when supporting endpoint and conference room equipment.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting Microsoft Teams Rooms, conference room technologies, and audio-visual systems.

Experience providing executive or white-glove support to senior leadership.

Familiarity with endpoint management tools such as Intune, ManageEngine, or Lansweeper.

Basic PowerShell scripting experience for automation and administration tasks.

ITIL certification or practical knowledge of ITIL service management principles.

Experience supporting hybrid work environments and remote employees.

Familiarity with compliance, security audits, or regulated environments.

Experience independently leading small endpoint management or user technology improvement projects.
