Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School, which provides a college preparatory education and a unique
work-study experience to low-income families, is seeking a Career Counselor. To learn more about the

Summary of Job Responsibilities: A Career Counselor at Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School
guides students in career exploration, professional internships, and job readiness. Responsibilities
include assisting with resume building, interview preparation, planning and implementing Career Day,
and connecting Cristo Rey alumni to internship opportunities and fulltime employment. The counselor
will collaborate with Corporate Work Study partners, organizes networking events, and tracks student
progress to ensure successful transitions into the workforce post graduation.
Responsibilities
• Provide personalized career counseling to students, assisting in the exploration of potential career
paths.
- Coach students on ways to best utilize resources on their college campuses to establish career plans
aligned with their aspirations and goals.
- Offer guidance on resume building, updates to LinkedIn profiles, cover letters, and interview
preparation to enhance students' employability.
- Leverage relationships with Corporate Work Study partners to identify suitable job placements for
students based on their career goals.
- Organize and coordinate networking events, career fairs, and industry connections for students.
- Conduct workshops on essential skills such as time management, communication, teamwork, and
problem-solving.
- Track and assess students' progress in their career and academic plans, offering ongoing support.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of career counseling programs and make adjustments as
needed.
- Stay informed about current employment trends, educational opportunities, and industry
developments.
- Foster relationships with community organizations and resources to enhance students' career
development.
- Support students in identifying and pursuing internships and other experiential learning
opportunities.
- Continue to build relationship with CareerSpring, a career access platform for first-generation
college students.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Previous experience in career counseling, preferably in an educational setting.
- Familiarity with the unique opportunities students gain through the Corporate Work Study
Program.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students and Corporate Partners.
- Ability to provide guidance on resume building, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
- Knowledge of current employment trends, industry developments, and educational pathways.
- Organizational skills to coordinate networking events, career fairs, and workshops.
- Experience in tracking and assessing student progress to ensure successful outcomes.
- Collaboration and teamwork skills to work effectively with teachers, administrators, and external
partners.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit mission.
